Chudi Abajue is originally from Houston, TX. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington and is currently pursing his master’s degree in architecture at the University of Houston. Tip: Investing in a car is a must to investigate the diverse peoples and environments that the city has to offer.

Simone Ashby is originally from Trinidad and Tobago. She attended the University of St Andrews, Scotland receiving a bachelor of science degree with a major in math. Currently enrolled in the Master of Architecture degree program at the University of Houston she is currently finishing up her second year of the three-year program. Tip: On a Saturday morning Discovery Green is the best place to exhaust your eyes by watching other people exercise. It’s a workout and you don’t have to do any of the heavy lifting yourself.

Rebecca DeBardelaben is pursuing a Masters of Public History. She is currently in her second year. Insider Tip: The best place for Tex-Mex food and margarita’s is Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant on Westheimer Road.

Jason Fischer is in the first year of a Master of Architecture degree program. Insider Tip: Allen Parkway and Memorial are the best streets within the inner loop [Loop 610] to take late-night motorcycle rides.

Ruijun Hao is a graduate student from China, pursuing a Master of Architecture degree. She lives close to campus without a car. Insider tip: The best places to buy housewares in Houston are the Dynasty Mall and Fit Market in Chinatown.

Katie Honeycutt is pursuing her Master of Architecture degree. She is currently in the first year of the program. Insider Tip: When driving through Montrose on a rainy day, watch out for displaced manhole covers. Driving over one can destroy your car and your day.

Nicole Hubbard is originally from Lafayette, Louisiana. She is in her second year of graduate studies at the University of Houston; majoring in Architecture. Tip: Always keep your GPS updated, and double-check your route before putting your car in gear.

Natasha Ostaszewski is pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She is currently in her fourth year. Insider Tip: Furkin Phoenix is home to Houston’s best Bloody Mary.

Allison Parrott is pursing a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She is currently in her fourth year. Insider Tip: When visiting Houston, avoid Elgin Road, take Pease Street instead. The lights are synced.

Mai Phan received a BBA, and is a current graduate student of architecture at the University of Houston. She was born and raised primarily in southwest Houston. Tip: When driving to or from southwest Chinatown, drive extremely cautiously and don’t add to the road rage on Bellaire Boulevard.

Aatique Shaikh is currently in his second year pursuing a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Houston. Tip: I’m still on a quest to find the best Tres Leches cake in Houston. The best he has found so far is at Mi Luna in Rice Village.

Steven Thomson studies art history and architecture, and will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in May, 2009. Insider Tip: The best place to loiter in the city is the Graustark St. bridge over Highway 59, whether it be evening rush hour or 2:01 a.m.

Kurt Vrbas is originally from a small town in central Texas called West that has a strong Czech and German heritage. He received a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Texas A&M in 2004. As of the spring of 2010, he is pursuing a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Houston. He likes to eat barbecue, when his wife lets him. Tip: Burn’s Bar BQ might have the best smoked brisket and sausage in Houston, but If you are not in the mood for barbecue, try Goode Company Seafood off of Westpark Dr. or Hank’s Place Ice Cream on South Main.

Allyn West, born in Arizona and bred in Indiana, is a Ph.D. student in the English department at the University of Houston. He teaches rhetoric and composition. Tip: You will never love Houston until you get out of your car.

Jessica Winegardner studies architecture and will graduate with a Master of Architecture degree in May of 2009. Insider Tip: A south wind at the University of Houston always smells of coffee.

Yan Zhang is in the first year of graduate studies at the University of Houston. She has a background in graphic design and interior design. She likes to look at the things in multiple ways. Tip: The Chinese Star is a great spot for bubble tea after school.
